Bulbous Oat Grass

Features: A great slow-growing ground cover grass with striking green and white variegated foliage.  Like blue fescue, it grows quickly in the cool temperatures of early spring and fall and goes dormant during the hot summer months.  One of the few grasses for shady spots. Features: We think a better common name is chameleon grass due to the color change throughout the season. In early spring it emerges almost totally white with narrow green variegation. As the season progresses, the green variegation begins to overtake the white. By late fall it's almost solid green. Makes an excellent focal point in the garden and is especially striking when combined with bronze fennel. Spreads slowly by underground rhizomes. Cut plants back to encourage new variegated foliage.  Deer Resistant

Features:  A definite improvement over other ornamental millet. 'Jester' has wider leaves at 1.5". 'Jester' has better color, transitioning from chartreuse to red to burgundy. It branches much more easily forming a clump more quickly. And it's a stouter, sturdier plant. The blooms make an interesting addition to cut flower arrangements and the seeds attract birds. Deer-Resistant.

Features: The threadlike leaves of this native grass produce a fine textured 2' tall dense mound. Color changes from green in spring and summer to orange in fall to a creamy color in winter. Delicately scented, slender flower stalks rise above the grass in July. Slow growing, but well worth the wait. Extremely drought tolerant once established.
