Carex oshimensis 'Evergold'

'Evergold' has a flowing habit and striking variegated foliage. The dark green margins are a dramatic contrast for the yellow centers creating a bright display in a shady spot.

Once established, 'Evergold' can tolerate a range of climatic conditions but does not respond well to extreme heat.

Carex pensylvanica

Native to the US and Canada, Carex pensylvanica prefers drier soils than most other Carex species, although it will thrive in moist conditions with adequate drainage. The semi-evergreen leaves gracefully arch in a slow creeping mound that grows best in dappled to full shade.

Chasmanthium latifolium

Broad-leaved, pale green foliage arches gracefully under the weight of seed-heads that emerge in June and remain attractive into the winter. Grows well even in dry shade. Reseeding nature makes it useful for filling in large areas.
