John Baldwin Boxwood

A broad, upright, conical grower. Foliage is fine-textured and leaves are relatively small compared to many boxwood. New foliage will have a blue tint and will slowly fade to a blue-green. An excellent substitute for conical Japanese hollies. Relatively new to the market and shows great promise. Shows potential to be adaptable to a wider range of soil conditions.

Medium growth rate; 2"-3"/year

Uses - Medium specimen, medium hedge, foundation plant, containers. Substitutes - 'Dee Runk', 'Fastigiata', 'Green Mountain'

John Baldwin Boxwood Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Prune juvenile plants as needed in late winter to maintain density and desired form. Becomes handsome plant as it matures, requires very little pruning.  Some shade preferred but not required.
