Andropogon gerardii 'Red October' PP26283

Red October Big Bluestem

The keyword for this stunner is 'red'. Red highlights on deep green leaves in spring then in autumn, the leaves redden, mature to burgundy, becoming absolutely scarlet at first frost. Even the turkey foot seed heads are a burgundy red! This upright, tough native is particularly showy in a fall blooming perennial border. Asexual propagation prohibited.
